Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen performed well in athletics and enjoyed rough, physical games. This passion was combined with an equally natural gift for being a performer. This was apparent when she won every Feis for drama and theater the Irish had to offer. As a teenager She was admitted to the Abbey Theater, where her fascination with classical theater and operatic music was followed. Charles Laughton became captivated with Maureen's stunningly beautiful eyes after he saw a screen-test. Before deciding to cast her on the screen in Jamaica Inn (1939), Laughton together with his friend, Erich Pommer, changed her name instead of Maureen FitzSimons to "Maureen O'Hara" - a bit shorter last name for the marquee. With a contract signed to Laughton and Erich Pommer, her following film was to be filmed within America (The Hunchback Of Notre Dame (1939)) at RKO Pictures. Maureen's contract with Laughton was purchased by RKO following the epic film was such a hit. Maureen Laughton was already featured in two major motion films before she reached 19.
