The early achievements of Maureen FitzSimons in the arts of performing, and which are now known as Maureen O'Hara, would certainly be a qualifier to be in being in the "child prodigy" category. This was a very natural characteristic for a girl of Irish heritage, who was nurtured in the beginning by gifted relatives and parents. Maureen made her entrance into the safe haven of her parents on August 17 1920, at Ranelagh (a suburb in Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita FitzSimons was a talented contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based firm and also owned a stake of "The Shamrock Rovers," a renowned Irish soccer squad. Maureen FitzSimons is the second child from Charles FitzSimons.
